Im serious! First off, these are the files that correspond to their respective FRM revisions. These group files can be used for any chassis that uses an FRM module. Unfortunately, I do not know the group files for the LM modules but this can be quickly and easily found through trial and error.
You will probably know right away because Tool32 might not even load the tables after opening the group file in step 3. Please confirm if you get it to work. Step 1: Connect your cable. This can be done one of 3 ways described below. After the file has been loaded, you should see 4 different windows open. A photo of the 4 windows is attached at the bottom of this post 1 Open. Press F3 3c. Select the small button in the top left corner that looks like a folder with a curved arrow over it.
This table lists the lamp fixtures right and their corresponding IDs left. These IDs are the arguments you need to enter to execute your job. Note the lamp ID s for the fixture s that is are out. If the job does not execute properly, you can try ticking this box. Step 7: Run the job. This can be done 2 ways. Once the job runs, another window will be brought to the front of the screen and will indicate job status.

Being an electrical engineer, I thought I would do some diagnostics before sending to a local specialist. When checking I found that no voltage was getting to the lamp, upon further testing and some forum reading, I traced it back to the LCM module.
As the car was under warranty, I thought I would try my luck and see if it would be covered. For this I had to book into my garage of choice to be diagnosed. I booked into a local BMW specialist I intended to use for all my future work and explained the situation. Unfortunately neither the diagnostic work, nor the repair were coved under my warranty The garage was not very helpful and charged me full price for the diagnostics, then told me the LCM was faulty, which was exactly what i had told them when i booked it in.

I found this hard to believe but the owner stood firm on this? Anyway, after a frustrating conversation with the garage they informed me that I would have to purchase a new LCM and then have it coded back into the car. Yeah thanks for nothing!
I asked if I could purchase a second hand unit and have this coded in. The garage replied with no, it would not be possible to recode to my car, as the mileage is held in the LCM and this would show as a discrepancy on the dashboard?
My options as I see them: 1. Get a second hand LCM unit and have it coded in to the car, if this is possible? As option 2 and do it myself buying the software and learning? Take a feed from the working right side light and have it switch on a transistorised relay, bringing in a new fused supply for the light. This would however leave me with the annoying faulty light symbol.
Do option 3 and learn how to code the faulty light out of the system. If this is possible? My Questions: 1. Can the LCM shut down this single output, never to be reactivated again 2.
Can my original LCM be repaired? Can I fit a second hand unit and have it recoded without taking away the authenticity of my mileage and displaying on the clocks. If a second hand unit can be fitted, what software and cable is required and how difficult is the process. I have no hesitation on learning how to either code a second hand LCM, or code the light out. I am an electrical engineer by trade; however I retrained some 15 years ago.

I really don't want to replace and have to code and my LCM issue is not that any lights don't work or stay on, but just a constant draw of. Am I correct in my memory that there is a way to just reset and clear faults in your LCM by pulling a large relay maybe in trunk? I will re-install LCM tomorrow and see if draw is gone, but want advice on this.
Bill BTW, all lamps in trunk pulled and lights inside car off and doors closed. I still had the draw until I pulled the LCM. I've not heard of any LCM reset procedure, or the need for one. Many coding functions are actually not properly implemented in BMWScanner 1. Maybe you can clear something up for me re: coding. BTW, an awful lot of folks have videos and posts online showing them coding their module using PASoft.

I have heard more and more report that mileage is not relevant when codingAfter spending the best part of this year and many hundreds of pounds trying to fix my parking sensors I finally got them back on line a couple of weekends ago.
I thought I'd share this experience in case anyone is going through the same. I used Carly to read the fault codes. When understanding the codes it's important to know that the 8 parking sensors form a continuous circuit, a short circuit in 1 sensor will knock any sensors downstream of it offline.
None of my sensors were making a clicking noise. This can mean there's a short circuit due to a faulty loom or sensor or the module might just be fried. If you look at the PDC Module under the spare wheel well you'll see 3 connectors plugged into it:. Repeat for the rear, if you get fault codes containing the fault text 'Inverter' your issue is at the rear. If you don't get any codes with the fault text 'Inverter' then your module is either screwed or the sensor in position 1 of the circuit is.
I'm not sure how to determine this, at least not with Carly. Turned out my module was fried. Replaced that, re-read the codes then got the inverter errors. Once you get to a position whereby you're picking up Inverter errors you can then tell which sensor is not working by referencing the following:.
The sensor in the sequence immediately after the sensor reporting the fault is the broken sensor. I was picking up fault codes for E38 so by changing the sensor on the Front Passenger Middle the rest of my sensors came back on line. So the fault reported is the last working sensor in the circuit. The rear ones were fine however half of the front sensors arrived faulty which threw me when replacing all of the front sensors making me thing the issue was at the rear.
It was only after making an attempt to understand the codes, rather than by throwing money at the issue did I realise this. I'd still recommend purchasing them for the price alone however get a few more than you actually need just in case they are faulty.

On the highway, it decreases the response so you don't drift with small movements of the steering wheel. The rack on active steering has a planetary gear between the input and the rack.
When you are driving at lower speeds small steering wheel movements, cause significant front wheel turn which makes turning left and right or getting out of a parking spot much easier.
At highway speed, the Active Steering system adjusts the steering ratio to become less responsive. This helps to make the vehicle more stable at highway speed. In cars without active steering, even a small movement of the steering wheel can cause the car to change lane. BMWs with active steering adjust the steering so that small movements don't have as much of an impact on the front wheel.
List of possible symptoms you may notice if the Active Steering module or one of its components fails. The active steering fault light may come on after wheel alignment when performed by mechanics not familiar with BMWs. If you are experiencing problems a good starting point is to read fault codes from the Active Steering module. A diagnostic scanner that is capable of reading, clearing and performing bi-directional tests on BMW vehicles.
You must verify that the scanner that you use supports your BMW model and year. These are only a few examples. This is a list of tests and sensor activations that you can perform via the Active Steering module.
Your scanner must be able to perform bi-directional tests to carry out these adaptations.
